Nunde’bon
Khosh yiwun nundebon wesiye myeon su dilbar aawnai
Thar thar cham mar bhe shayad shar mei jigras drawnai
Prepossessing & enchanting, dear friend, did my beloved not come?
My heart flutters, my desires seem unfulfilled, I may die!
Sui me roothum aash yemsenz shab o roz aesem dilas
Rasuli wanto kas che roothuk wani kumu mane naawnai
My beloved who I hoped for days and nights is now upset
O Rasul! Ask yourself who are you upset with and how to reconcile?
Ishq ne pakda na tha Ghalib abhi wehshat ka rang
Rehgaya tha dil mein jo kuch zauq e khwari haaye haaye
My love had not yet reached the stage of sheer insanity
Heart yearned, unfulfilled, for the union's ecstasy
Dard se mere hai tujhko beqarari haaye haaye
Kya hui zaalim teri gaflat shiyari haaye haaye
Now for my pain you feel the pangs of unadorned restlessness
O tyrant! What has happened to your credo of callousness?
Khalq mi goyad ki Khusrau but parasti mi kunad
Aarey aarey mi kunam ba khalq mara kaar neest
The people of the world say Khusrau worships idols
So he does, so he does; the people does not need, the world he does not need
Kaafir e ishqam musalmani mara kaar neest
Har ragey mun taar gashta hajat e zunnar neest
I am pagan and a worshipper love: the creed (of muslims) i do not need;
Every vein of mine has become taunt like a wire, the (Brahman's) girdle I do not need.
